As an official supplier to the U.S. Armed Forces, Hamilton expanded on our reputation for producing quality precision timepieces by equipping servicemen. This also signaled the beginning of the shift from the production of pocket watches to wristwatches. In 1942, Hamilton stopped producing watches for consumers to focus on the enormous task of supplying the Armed Forces, producing over one million timepieces including wristwatches and marine chronometers and earning an Army-Navy E award for excellence in manufacturing.
Today, Hamilton watches are still a huge part of the watch industry, both in the United States and overseas. Hamilton watches have unique shapes, personality and design combining true, American spirit with Swiss precision and technology.
