Baselworld 2016 - New Seiko Prospex Marinemaster GPS Solar Collection

Two years ago, Seiko launched their Prospex series globally to much fanfare.  For the 1st time, customers around the world were able to purchase Seiko watches that were designed with professional specifications in mind. Today, Seiko has introduced a new type of Prospex model that incorporates the company's GPS Solar technology along with a design developed to withstand the harshest environments of being on the open sea.

The NEW Seiko Prospex Marinemaster GPS Solar Collection utilizes Seiko's 8X53 dual time caliber. It is available in a blue dialed limited edition model (SSF001 pictured above) and a black dial model (SBED003 pictured below). The 8X53 caliber includes dual-time function, perpetual calendar, world time function, accuracy to +/- 15 seconds a month and more.

Constructed using corrosion-resistant titanium, both models are designed for ultimate usability at sea. They both feature a screw-down case back and crown and is coated with a super-hard coating to protect from scratches. 200 meter water resistance, a dual-coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and wide prow shaped markers with Lumibrite coating round out the design.  Additionally, the crown and buttons are easy to use even when gloves are worn. The case and bracelet are designed to avoid any edge catching a rope or line. Everything about this new design direction is a marriage of the sea and Seiko's professional specification watches.
