Baselworld 2016 - Eterna Super KonTiki Chronograph

Being in the watch business for 160 years is certainly something to celebrate.  Eterna is celebrating this prestigious milestone by debuting a trio of exceptional chronographs that are sure to stir the souls of enthusiasts the world over. Welcome to the NEW Eterna Super KonTiki Flyback Chronograph with an in-house Eterna movement.

The Eterna KonTiki is an iconic design within the industry that captures the spirit of adventure with the precision and reliability that Eterna is known for.  This new interpretation of the classic KonTiki timepiece is something worthy of a closer inspection.

The new Super KonTiki Chronograph continues a voyage that started almost 60 years ago, seducing decades of watch lovers with its daring design and horological innovation.  Let's start with the inhouse caliber Eterna 3916A.

This Eterna movement is another technical evolution of the Eterna's Calibre 39 family.  This version is a flyback chronograph with a co-axially mounted minutes and hours display. It features a fast time zone switch-over mechanism that is a patented Eterna Movement development. Furthermore, it is a Mechanical self-winding movement with small seconds counter, hours and minutes display. It also shows the date, has a chronograph display for seconds, minutes and hours, plus it features a flyback feature and stop seconds ability. To boot, it features a 60 hour power reserve.

The Flyback function is definitely worth taking a closer look at. Unlike a normal chronograph, the flyback function allows the chronograph to be reset to zero and immediately started again at any given time during its operation. This handy complication seems simple, but is extremely difficult to accomplish and serves as a tribute to the mastery of the movement manufacture at Eterna.

The Eterna Super KonTiki Chronograph will debut with two excellent designs to choose from: either a sporty rubber strap or on an elegant stainless steel Milanese bracelet.

We're told the pricing for these pieces will be around $4700.00 for the rubber strap and $4900.00 for the bracelet. Regardless of which model strikes your fancy, you can be assured that you are getting a dynamic timepiece with an iconic look and Eterna quality.
