In 2001, Frédérique Constant began the development of its first manufacture calibre in co-operation with the École d'Horlogerie de Genève, École d'Ingenieurs de Genève and the Horloge Vakschool Zadkine, The Netherlands. In 2004, Frédérique Constant joined the elite circle of Swiss watch brands that develop and produce their movements in-house. After the successful introduction of the iconic Heart Beat Manufacture Collections, the innovative Geneva-based brand created the surprise of BaselWorld 2008 by presenting its first Tourbillon Manufacture movement (cal FC-980). Currently Frederique Constant proudly produces more than ten calibres in house. Moreover, still today, no other Swiss, classical watch brand in the Accessible Luxury-segment has achieved a similar development of producing its own movements.
