Heart Beat Manufacture Limited Edition Automatic Moonphase

Created especially for the ÒONLY WATCH 07Ó charity auction held in Monte-Carlo in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research, this unique incorporates some of the newest high-tech materials being researched by Frederique Constant Heart for his Heart Beat Manufacture calibres.
These include Zerodur, a glass ceramic used in satellite technologies, which Frederique Constant has used to create a totally non-magnetic balance wheel that is unaffected by temperature changes, thereby improving the accuracy and performance of the movement; and Silicium, a very light mineral-based material that is both anti-magnetic and has a very low friction coefficient. The main advantage of using this material to form the escapement wheel is that it requires no oiling, increasing the movementÕs precision and longevity. Once again, Frederique Constant can be seen to be at the forefront of watchmaking innovation.

The piece itself is the personification of elegance with its black and silver dial, engine-turned Frederique Constant crest in dial centre, rose gold Arabic numerals, circular moon phase and date indicator at twelve oÕclock, and large ÒHeart BeatÓ aperture at six oÕclock to reveal the balance.  The sapphire crystal case back is engraved ÒPiece Unique - Only Watch 2007Ó, and the buckle on the alligator band is 18k rose gold. A very classy and unusal piece.
